What is yeldalately.com?

I read on Man Repeller’s blog the following line:  “…with the conviction that an interest in fashion doesn’t minimize one’s intellect.”  This speaks volumes to me.  My full time job has no space for fashion.  It’s an old boy’s club-esque judgement zone, where a hint of fashion suggests that you’re lacking, or lesser, in the intellect department. So, I may tone down my style.  Even the toned-down version of me can cause a stir occasionally.  Yet, I believe I continue to prove that my “style” does not cancel out my brain.  I can engage in informed discussions about hard and soft politics, alike, regardless of ranks (side note: I work in a major hierarchal environment).

This is a round-about way of saying I want this blog to be a place where I can be myself, unapologetically.  I will focus on fashion.  Occasionally, I may swerve into world affairs, politics, and so on.  Then dive into beauty talk.  Next, enter the zone of raw motherhood – and back into the world’s fashionable runways and streets.  I want this blog to mean, and be, something for everyone.  Because who I am is multifaceted.  I do not fit neatly into one box.  I bet some of you don’t either.  And, that’s fine.  Who the f&*^ decided we have to be one thing.  We don’t.

This is a glimpse into what I’m up to lately. Outfits I’m coveting lately. Beauty products I’m obsessing over lately. Foods I’m devouring lately.  Decor I’m swooning over lately.  Mommy things I’m trying lately, including how I juggle this thing called life.  No rules. No boundaries. No confinement.

Thanks for tagging along.  I hope you like what you read and see.
